Upcoming events

On the day before Remembrance Sunday, you're invited to remember a loved one, or all those who've fought and fallen, at Lydiard Park, just outside of Royal Wootton Bassett.

You can take part in the 11km or 1.1km fun run and the money you raise in sponsorship will support the Legion's work helping today's brave injured Service men and women. Everyone can take part - in running clothes, uniform or fancy dress - together we will pay tribute to all those we'll never forget.

Designed for people of all ages you can run, jog, walk or march either 11km or 1.1km and raise essential funds to support the Legion. You can complete the fun run on your own, or enter as a team (maximum of 10). Not only is the run a great new way to raise funds for our heroic Service men, women and their families, but it's also an opportunity to get fit and be a part of a very special day in honour of our very brave Service heroes.

Leading the runners will be Legion beneficiary and Former Private in the 2nd Battalion the Mercian Regiment Aron Shelton, who had his left leg amputated after the vehicle he was travelling in hit a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.

Aron, was supported through his Disability Living Allowance tribunal by the Legion and successfully won his claim.

"The Legion has helped me - now I'm helping the Legion in return. I'm so proud to be starting the Run2Remember at Lydiard Park this year."

The Military Wives Choir will be special guests at the family fun run, giving a performance for eager runners and their supporters.

The Royal British Legion is urging people to sign up and join in.

When: 11.00am, Saturday 10 November 2012
Where: Lydiard Park, just outside of Royal Wootton Bassett.
